This is the third year we attended the Eat Real Festival in Oakland, California. We love this 3-day food event as it is filled with delicious treats from local food trucks, vendors, and restaurants, as well as classes and demo events. We love to go right when the event starts at 10:30am to avoid the crowd and long lines. Also, it’s the best to go with a small group of people so we can share everything and not get fill up after visiting two or three booths.
Check out pictures from our previous visits – 2012 and 2013
Crab cake slider from New Orleans Cajun Cookin’
Gilroy garlic mac ‘n cheese from Homeroom. This was mind-blowingly good. I need more!!!
lamb poutine from The Whole Beast
Malasadas coated in cinnamon sugar from Dora’s Donuts
Fresh mochis from Simply Mcohi. They offer delicious flavors like peanut butter and jelly, haupia, strawberry cheesecake, red bean, etc.
Chocolate Cronut with Thai tea ice cream sandwich from Frozen Kuhsterd. I think this needs no introduction.
Kamikaze fries from Koja Kitchen. Koja Kitchen is one of our favorite food truck, besides this decadent plate of waffle fries (topped with kimchi, korean bbq beef, hot sauce, onion, japanese mayo, and green onion), they make these amazing burgers with garlic rice buns! YUMMY!
Mango Sticky Rice Popsicle from Fat Face. This is hands down our favorite treat from the festival. Plus it’s from a company in Davis, CA, our alma mater!
Porky Fries from Bacon Bacon
We also sampled our way through the festival…kimchis, pickles, yogurt, coffee, honey…what a delicious day it was! Until next year.
