As promised, a picture of a leftover turkey panini sandwich. We had enough leftovers that Joe and I each had a least 3 sandwiches like this, but layered with different “side dishes”.
Cranberry sauce acts as the glue. This particular one I used challah bread, stuffed with cornbread dressing, turkey, green beans, mashed sweet potato, and a slice of that truffle cheese brioche as the “moist maker” – usually a slice of bread drenched with gravy is the ideal choice. OMG the gluttony.
Here is a picture of a triple decker one from last year’s post-thanksgiving feast. I mean, really, you can do this with any leftovers from your holiday parties. But for some reason, thanksgiving’s leftovers just taste so right in a sandwich.
